Compound Core Finisher (3 rounds, 45 sec rest between rounds):

  • Turkish Get-Up bodyweight — 3 × 5 each side (slow and deliberate — integrates every core stabiliser)
  • Dragon Flag Negative — 3 × 5 reps (lower only from shoulders, brace hard throughout)
  • Pallof Press Position Hold — 3 × 20 seconds each side (use light resistance band anchored to a door handle)
  • Hollow Body Rock — 3 × 10 rocks (maintain compressed position throughout, no arch)

Core Exercise Execution: Four Essential Cues

The Bracing Pattern

Before every core exercise, take a breath in and brace the abdominals as if absorbing a punch. This 360-degree intra-abdominal pressure activates the transverse abdominis — the deepest core layer and primary spinal stabiliser. Without this brace, the superficial muscles do all the work while the deep stabilisers stay dormant.

Posterior Pelvic Tilt in Floor Exercises
